Dr. Rita Shourds

President & CEO

Dr. Rita Hudson Shourds has been with Align since its inception and leads the organization in its quest to bring about systemic change to the five county region. She has served on numerous boards including Floyd Memorial Hospital, Norton Healthcare, One Southern Indiana Foundation, YMCA of Southern Indiana, Southern Indiana Works, Leadership Southern Indiana, First Merchants Foundation, Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, and Building Blocks.

Dr. Shourds is a graduate of Indiana University, University of Louisville and Spalding University and lives in Floyds Knobs with her family. She has served on numerous boards and is presently serving on the Norton Healthcare Board, One Southern Indiana Foundation Board, and First Savings Foundation Board.

Dr. Shourds comments, “Although on several occasions, my family has had the opportunity to leave this region, other places never measured up. Our region has committed citizens who desire to make a difference for future generations, even when it may require a change to generational thinking. Align has been very well received, showing the genuine interest of public and private organizations to move towards a culture of systemic change.”
